Welcome back to school after the mid-term break. Hopefully everyone had an enjoyable time.
Our annual Mission Week was a huge success, as always, and the girls raised 935 Euro. Well done! A very special ‘Thank You’ goes out to all of the girls for working so hard during the week, and we are very grateful for the time and effort that went into baking and making such delicious cakes and buns at home – you have been very generous and kind.
Hallowe’en Dress Up
All the girls may dress up for Hallowe’en tomorrow. We are looking forward to seeing how creative you can be with your costume.
We were delighted to welcome Mayor Joe Kelly to the school on Monday morning. He presented certificates to 17 girls who had full attendance at school last year. 16 other girls received certificates for missing no more than three days at school. Well done to all of you girls and to your Mums and Dads for making sure you got to school every day.
The Mayor’s message this year was about staying safe at Hallowe’en. Remember to stay away from bonfires and bangers, and make sure that you have an adult with you if you are going trick or treating.
It’s Maths Week!
This week, we are celebrating all things Mathematical! Why not check out the Maths Puzzles for all ages on the Maths Week Ireland website? http://www.mathsweek.ie/2018/2015/10/resources-puzzles/
A New School Year
Hello Everyone and a very warm welcome back to school. It was great to see the girls today and to know that they were happy and looking forward to another year of learning and fun.
We extend a very special welcome to our new pupils and their families, and to our new staff members, Ms. Dee Kissane (Teacher – 5th Class), Mrs. Clare Burke (Teacher – 3rd Class) and Ms. Jean Evans (SNA).
Our first newsletter for this school year will be published on Thursday so keep an eye out for lots more news.
Summer is Here
As we say farewell to Ms. Ryan, we congratulate Miss Monica Kelly who has been appointed as the school’s next Deputy Principal.
Thank you to everyone in our school community for your wonderful support during the past year. We look forward to seeing all of you again on Monday 3rd September. In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine and the break from school.
Here Comes the Sun!
The weather forecast is for very hot, sunny weather over the next few days. As it is the last week of the school year, the girls may wear their school polo shirts and school shorts instead of uniforms for the week. Anyone who does not have a school shorts may wear an appropriate pair of shorts instead.
Remember to put on lots of suncream, wear a hat and bring lots of water to drink so that you can stay safe and enjoy the sunshine.
